Allen DeSomer
 
For nearly 35 years Allen DeSomer performed live music with only his voice and a guitar.  Today, he is a composer and recording artist offering original tracks for TV, film, and CD.
 
 
Allen's primary instrument is the guitar.  He combines guitar tracks with recorded and MIDI tracks to create unique original compositions that evoke a wide range of moods ranging from serene to exciting!
 
 
Allen DeSomer is also well-known in his local community as a performer on the Indian sitar.  He has performed in a variety of venues including large Divali celebrations, private concerts, and church services.  He has recently begun recording his sitar music in genres such as World, Soft Rock, and New Age.

Allen has over 20 years of business management experience as an accountant and former CPA.   His solid work ethic and impecable professionalism fully compliment his musical talent.  This unique combination of personal qualities make him a trustworthy and capable partner for your next project!
History:
 
Allen's formal music training is in choral music, singing as a bass in musicals, various large and small elite concert choirs, a madrigal singing troup, and even a barbershop quartet.  Allen's recent a cappella solos of traditional Spiritual songs have evoked enthusiastic response.  Allen's training on the guitar started at a young age at which time he learned to read music as well as play by ear.  His latest original finger-style guitar solos reflect a mastery that is rooted in early discipline and honed through years of practice.
 
Allen is currently the lead singer and guitarist for a local Kirtan group that was formed after being inspired by the work of Ragani, an award-winning producer and kirtan leader based in Milwaukee.

Allen's first film credit is official!  This loving documentary explores the relationship of marriage and faith from the perspective of three couples and their parents.  His song "Tell Me The Answer" was chosen to set the mood for the first scene of the film:

DeSomer Factoid:
 
The DeSomer family name is pronounced Dee-So'-mer (not De-Sum'-mer). The name is Flemish and means "the summer" so if you don't pronounce it the way the family does, at least you're translating correctly.  It's all good!
